The Wissahickon School District provides special education services for all eligible students in K-12. Our special education programs are either operated by our school district or the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. Services by disability area are listed as follow:

Mission

The mission of the Wissahickon School District’s Special Education Department is to provide a distinctive educational experience based on students’ individualized strengths and needs, with a goal of preparation for success in the paths each student chooses to pursue.

Vision

Wissahickon School District’s Special Education Department recognizes and values individual differences among students. Our focus is on providing educational programming that enables, empowers, and meets the academic, physical, social, behavioral, and emotional needs of every student; while maintaining high expectations that prepare our students to become successful, contributing members of society.

Through strong relationships and collaboration of stakeholders, our goal is to ensure the availability of a full continuum of program options to fit the unique needs of all students, to support their educational progress, and to realize their potential in school and the community.
